Dawn Bailey had worked for the company for 19 years when she was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a disease which causes swelling of the joints and a shortness of breath. Her boss was less than supportive to say the least, repeatedly poking fun at her age, saying things like ‘You being ill is disruptive to me and others in the office’ and ‘I need to trade you in for a younger model’.

She resigned and took him and the company to tribunal winning her case.
